If you get 2 up that is usually good. If you pat the baby for 5 minutes, your also good. Remember, gentle patting is best, and sometimes a little bouncing can work a burp up. But make sure the bouncing is slow and very gentle.

HOnestly i would think 2 is fine, but if they have a nice 1 burp then most of the time that is just as good.

It depends sometimes the baby won't burp at all. Just try to burp your baby for 2-3 minutes and if he or she hasn't burped that's ok. One small bit of advice that I learned with my first baby, who had collic really bad, burp your baby after every ounce or two if you are bottle feeding and after 10 minutes on the first breast if you are breast fedding. And hold your baby upright for at least 15 minutes after baby is done feeding. This helps them not spit up as much and it helps so they don't get as much air trapped in their intestines which can cause a lot of pain for them.

I'd say after the first two burps the baby will just be fine, but not all baby's are the same you have to be care full with colic's that comes from gases from baby drinking to much milk and or not getting their burps out on time, I went threw that already with my first daughter...

You can usually tell when the baby is comfortable.
Two or so is fine...trying for many more might upset the baby or even make them sick and spit up (from hitting them on the back to burp)

I would wait a minute or two then proceed to burp the baby. One is good.

As a mother of 4 grown, healthy kids I can say I was always happy with 1 good one. They'll let you know if that's not enough.
Sometimes there are 2, especially if there is one when the baby first sits up or goes over your shoulder and then a second after you rub or pat their backs for awhile.

That's probably good. One big one, or a couple small ones. When my baby burps, I usally burp her just a little more to make sure. Usally nothing more comes.
