The second movie is coming out Friday at midnight. I think you're thinking that maybe the Pirates of the Caribbean is a re-make of an older movie when in fact the first movie with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom was based on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.

2 now but the 3 comes out next year the first one was curse of the black pearl and the second was deads man chest and the first is on dvd the second is in the theaters friday and 3 is still to come

The movie that came out today is the second film, called "Dead Man's Chest." The third movie comes out next year, and while the title is not released yet, there are rumors that it will be called "At World's End."

cisco_cantu can'tu count. If there are 2 out on DVD and one in the theater (that makes 3) how can there be a third currently in production? That would be 4.
There is one on DVD and one now in theaters. I'm not aware of a third one in production.
