Decorate with faux Pillars/Columns. You can even use 4 short pillars for legs on a table and sponge paint a rectangle piece of plywood to look like marble to place on top. Also drape white linens from pillar to pillar and intertwine with fake ivy. Supplies can be purchased from hardware store, craft stores and online. A great center piece would be a copper fire pit that would also fit the theme. Be sure to have a variety of Grecian food. Serve your beverages in goblets and pick up a ceramic pitcher for the sangria! I think that it would be great to ask your guests to come dressed up, provide them with resources on the invite for costume ideas and also provide head pieces or sheets to be worn for the guests who arrive in swim apparel that decide to participate. Think outside the box and your party is sure to be a success.

Sounds like an awesome party! I'd just tell the guests to TRY to come in Greco-Roman stuff--there's a lot of goddess-style shirts that could be paired with short skirts or shorts in this weather. Also, that style of robes was made for hot climates, so the guests may find them loose and comfortable.

As for decorations, will there be any palm or other types of trees near your site? If so, maybe you could tie a pillar made of attached sheets of heavy paper to the tree. That would really give the greek vibe. Decorate the beach with palm fronds or some other type of plant that might have been used for fanning emperesses and such. Use incense if possible--that will make it seem more like a temple. Strings of lights in shapes like fruit, stars, or moons, might be nice too. Or, you could put strings of white Christmas lights on the ground and arrange them like famous constellations!

Arrange everything symmetrically. The Greeks were into symmetry. If you plan to have a food table, do hummus and pita and olives--that type of thing. Have a great time!
