Yes I have read Mrs. Dalloway and also seen the movie The Hours...the way Virginia Woolf has captured the events of 1 day in the life of Mrs. Dalloway and the people that she comes into contact with is simply brilliant. The to and fro between the present and the young Clarissa and that of Septimus and the correlation between their lives was something brilliantly portrayed.

Both Clarissa and Septimus are fighting with 2 worlds the internal and the external. There is a constant struggle with both characters Clarissa and Septimus with privacy and interacting with the world.

Another important feature of Mrs. Dalloway is the way time has been used...the passage of time is something which is highlighted and used very well and to the advantage of the story. The symbolism of The Big Ben and as I said earlier the to and fro movement between the present and the past has been displayed brilliantly. The story is brilliant with symbolism being the main focus.

Hope you have read it...if not then grab a copy and also try and catch the movie...check out with British Council Library!
