Live Aid was such an amazing thing...at that time it was just a resugence of people who genuinely cared. And you will never beat a performance by Freddie Mercury no matter who you are putting him up against...he was a Rock God!
I love Robbie Williams, but there was magic at Wembley in 85.

Live Aid. Nobody had ever done anything like that before. It was a world-first. Queen is wicked as well. Live 8 was just a copy of it with some rubbish modern artists in it.

Queen were just making it too the music scene and no one expected them to be awesome, everyone expected Robbie to be amazing and he was good but no way near as good as queen.
I don't like to say it but Robbie wasn't as good as Status Quo!! the best music at Live 8 were REM and Maddona! they entertained!!
And Wembley was a better venue, hydepark held loads of people but if you were near the back you didn't feel a part of anything

I personally like Live Aid better music wise U2 (who was a t both) INXS, The Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof, singing I don't like Mondays, ROCK ON!) Queen was excellent, the whole thing was just rocked. But I think both were amazing. I strongly believe in the cause that the two concerts were for.

For me has to be Live 8. Pink Floyd back together with Roger Waters performing Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here. Absolutely amazing. Bit disappointed with RW singing second verse of 'Wish...' don't think his voice is as good as it used to be. But still.
On the downside wasn't too impressed with REM and that wa a real bummer. Really like Everybody Hurts and again Stipe's voice was also a bit tired sounding.

Live Aid. The quality of the performers was so much better then, even though you might cringe watching it now.
Also, people weren't so de-sensitised to the plight of those suffering in the world then as they are now.
