DON'T put anything on it. Just keep cleaning it with warm water - it'll still look a bit horrible for a few weeks yet, so don't worry! It's totally ok to get her belly wet - my baby was having baths all the time even before her cord fell off.

I just had a baby on Fathers Day... when the stump fell off i cleaned it with the alcohol pads for about 3 more days. I would just to be on the safe side.

you shouldn't use alcohol on an umbilical stump or on the spot after the stump falls off. you can keep it clean with just saop and water and make sure that you dry it completely. don't rub it with the towel, just blot it.

You can clean it with regular bathing or a little rubbing alcohol. But be sure after bathing to dry it out really well. Extra wetness can cause bacteria to grow if you notice discharge is a strange color or smell get to the pediatrician.

Just for a little while until the crusty stuff goes away. But with regular baths that wont take long.

Keep cleaning it until it dries up and heals completely. If it goes gunky/yellow weepy inform your health visitor straight away as it may be infected.

not really but i would still put rubbing alcohol on it for about 2 weeks after, just to make sure it heals and doesnt catch anything.
