!-pay attention in class and take some notes on the pertinent information or underline in your textbook and be sure you write down all the assignements needed for the next day. When you get home from school-eat a aftenoon snack with a drink(your brain functions better if your body is healthy-eat healthy foods-with a coold dring, relax for about 15-20 minutes. Then go back to notes or the important information you've outlined and transafer to outline form in a separate notebook-by doing this youre not cramming a bunch of info -but organizing and processing it into memory. Before exams you can also go back to that notebook and study these important points. Then do all assignements for the next day.when you finish this relax for you need this too and enjoyment also. Too much concentration on just studying all the time will affeact your stress level and you'll have burn out. I'm not giving a set no of hrs a day for depending on the assignment for the next day and the subject covered to outline it'll probably vary anyway. To avoid distractions set up a place of study-your room or a place in the house where you can have the most quiet and be less bothered by other people in the house. Always do your homework in that same area. Have your supplies ready and available. If you do this every day then your grades should always be good-whether or not you'll be no1 depends on how smart you are and all the other students in your school. Before a exam don't wait till the last minute but give yourself plenty of time once you know when so you can study and be relaxed about it-Do not push yourself too hard for it will overburden you but be sensible about it and stay healthy. Good luck

Ok I was not top rank in school in k to 6
but I was ambitious like you and now I am top rank and
have a 99% in all my exams and have a college level in my subjects and I am in 8th grade. I was able to do it all in 7th grade
within 2 months because of hard work. I was really angry at my self the day before I started 7th grade that I always failed
exams in k through 6 but I decided to change my ways. First
you simply work hard and pay attention in class just to understand all the subjects in your grade level. Then you can
ask your teacher for extra homewok so you have more training then your this is what I did. When I was in 6th grade my
classmates made fun of me and now I am more smarter then
them. You should study everything taught in school for atleast
1 1/2 hours a day. Once you are more intelligent then everyone in
your class study more advanced subjects beyond your grade
level so that you are top no matter what and will be prepared for next year. Just push yourself beyond your limits. Let
your determination be your stregnth. I was an idiot when I was younger but I let determination be my stregnth and now Im
not dumb and am one of the smartest kids at school if I can do that and you are already so determined you will definetly
reach your goal.
All the best.

It depends on your course list. My very first AP class my teacher told me to set apart at least one hour for just that class's homework. Make sure to study in a place that you are comfortable, but avoid studying on your bed or couch. Make sure there are few distractions, and that you have everything you need within reach. Try a place where there are other people studying like the library, it helps to have others in the same position as you are in. Try and get enough sleep, but I doubt you will get 8 or 9 hours, and just be competitive but not too much. Take breaks every once in a while, and don't be too serious. Be friendly because usually if you have friends they wil tell you their perspective on things, which can really help with homework.

You should have been thinking this last year. It's your jr. year the colleges look at. But if it is a must = do your homework. Evening devote your time to your studies. Get a good night sleep so you are alert in school the next day.
Forget the socializing. One or two sports to break the boredom of studying. Focus on one thing. That diploma. You are young you have all the time in the world for socializing when you are more mature.

Have two study periods a day with one day of the week-end free just to refresh and relax.
During non-exam days:
1st study period:
For 2 hours say 5pm -7pm - do your homework and any reading assignments.
2nd study period:
For 1hour re-read chapters from your text books or note books. This is a long term preparation for when exams come.
You can adjust the times to your liking. (this scedule is tried and tested with family members - all now graduated )
One month-two weeks before exam times, you use both these periods for complete revision work . We added extra time -as once the exams were over, term holiday was completely holiday and rest time. It's worth the effort as no exam repeats and helps getting good grades.
Room environment: Quiet room without TV and games etc.
Best of Luck!

You're certainly ambitious. =) I want to be #1 in high school, too.
Well, I don't think that there's a certain number of hours you should study. Some people need only read textbooks once to absorb them; others have to cram in order to remember everything. I suggest that you set up a daily schedule. Set aside time for homework/projects pertaining to each of your subjects. Also, don't procrastinate, whatever you do. Procrastination is your worst enemy! Study and prepare yourself for any pop quizzes, and work especially hard to learn everything before an exam.
I'm sure your hard work and determination will pay off. Good luck in being ranked #1 in your school! =D

I think you should study for 1hour 30 minutes daily.
First revise whatever you studied at school.
Than do your homework.
But playtime is a must!
Even during your exams you should play for at least 1 hr
I do that, and I know its importance!\
Ok bye I hope you follow my advice
Best of LucK!!
