Why are there so many American shows that try to copy anime (with mostly the facial expressions) but don't look the same at all.

America is realizing that they cannot compete with Asian films. In terms of anime, the US thinks by just copying the look of anime, they can appeal to a wider demographic. However, American directors/producers do not understand that not only are the Asian art and animation better, but the content and storylines are better as well. There is just no comparison...

Because they don't want American cartoons to lose their resellability. Currently, even the youngest kids know Yugioh from Pokemon from that stuff america makes that doesn't have cool faces.

Cartoons are one thing America doesn't want to outsource. They want to make it themselves.

it's because they're lame and don't have any original animation ideas. damn them all!!
