Be an american. Help your fellow humans around you in a way that is teaching to fish, if you get my meaning. A hand out does nothing. For instance I have a wealth of business knowledge and experience, but no money to offer.
So, whenever I hear someone talking about starting a business I help then as much as I can with knowledge and experience that they can draw from. Business consultants charge thousands for what I do for people because I care about thier situation and I want to see everybody succeed.
Do what you can in your local community. If you walk outside and down the street, I bet that within 5 minutes you can find someone that needs help, or something that needs fixing. Even if it is as simple as picking up some plastic from the street or helping an old lady accross the street. Just do something.

Try to imagine yourself in that person's shoes who needs help and then think about how you would like to be treated in that situation.

Become a certified citizen. Go to http://www.kiatoa.com and login and browse to the "Learn Stuff" section. Click the "Voter Cert" link. You will help me by testing out my site (which is intended to help make the world a better place) and help others by filling your mind with the facts and ideas we should all be aware of as smart citizens.

After you get certified join the kiatoa council and help out!

Ok. So I imagine your question was tongue-in-cheek but seriously, we can make a difference in this world with open minds and an eye to the future. So, get certified!

Sponser some underpriveleged children to come to me for tutoring. Hey that's a win-win-win situation. You help yourself (tax write off), you help a kid learn math, you help me by increasing my business.
