I've always wanted to get involved the community...where I could really make a difference in people's lives - like write a law or implement a health care system for our town...I know it's a large order, but it's something I'd be willing to do. Any suggestions?

Your reasons for wanting to enter politics are good and sincere. People enter politics at the lowest levels usually. School committees feature both students and adults. Town councils are an option for people even out of college. The way to win votes is to get your name out. Volunteer, visit older folks and shut-ins, help out at soup kitchens. Also, write letters to your newspaper about your ideas for fixing things. Join the campaigns of others to get a feel of what running for office is like. After all that, when people see your name on a ballot, they'll know who you are and what you stand for, and that will get you votes. I hope you do well in whatever you do.

Register for your choice of political parties, and then join your town committee. They'll have all the info you need to get you on your way.

anyone can write a law it just needs support from a senator, congressperson or city council member etc
