Yes and no. If it's just for a stroll or to play and the weather is really hot, diapers is fine.
But I agree with you, it's not fine in stores or malls or eating areas and you should complain to the manager about the health hazards. The store could be liable if they don't take action and then someone gets sick.

Well, if it's really hot outside and I'm out and about with my little man, I'll put him in a onsie but that fastens at the bottom so there really isn't much seperating his diaper from the shopping cart other than a thin piece of cotton fabric.
At home I'll let him around in the backyard with only a diaper and sometimes buck naked as being under 2 years of age is probably going to be the only time in his life he can get away with running around naked!
As far as being "disgusted" as you so gently put it, in seeing a baby in only his diaper....I don't think I would take it that far....you may put food in the top area where children normally sit but keep in mind, your food is going to be covered or wrapped in something when you put it up there. I normally put things up there that are fragile such as eggs....that being said, they come in their own box and if you've ever been to an egg farm, you wouldn't complain about baby diapers once you've seen how eggs are produced by chickens.
It's not like you're putting a slab of meat on the top portion of the cart and are now ticked cause the previous user of the cart put their baby in that seating area with only a diaper.
I will agree to extent that kids do need to wear some form of clothing when out and about in public.

There is a time and place where you can take a baby out in only a diaper, and a shopping center is not one of them. I see no problem of taking a baby that way to the beach or the park though. When my daughter was young there were many times that I didn't bother to put her in any clothes because of all of the spills and she was just more comfortable wearing nothing more than a diaper. But if we had to go in public I threw on at least a dress and a diaper cover.

Well, honestly when they are babies/toddlers, I don't see the big deal with them running around in a diaper. As a parent, I wouldn't actually let my child do that, but I wouldn't be totally disgusted by seeing another child like that. I would think they would only let them run around without clothes at home but who knows. Now, if I seen an older child or adult in just a diaper or underwear, I may react a little differently. lol

Toddlers can be very dirty from falling and are known to put their shoes on the seat and "mouth" the grocery cart handle - and they ride in the grocery carts with pants on. I guess we all need to think about cleaning the grocery cart top area before using it, eh? I'll certainly make sure I bag all my produce more carefully from now on... I think that the diaper (as long as it is fresh) is okay, but the babies need to have a shirt on. Most stores are air conditioned, and little ones get cold easily. Socks and/or shoes are a good idea too to help keep their body warmth in.

I think its cute. Do u have kids of ur own? I guess not ! bcos i used to think the same way when i did not have kids. now i have 6 month old baby and i like everyhting that he does, his sweet smell, his cooing, his smile and even changing his diaper.
as long as nothing is coming out of the diaper , do not worry. I believe most parents are careful about diapers. but you have to remember sometimes the baby is uncomfortable and wants to be relxed or just feels good with the diaper on, we parents have to do as per the baby's wishes.

I think it does make the parents look bad for not dressing their kids but only if it's at a grocery store or restaurant, or any place that involves food. I think it's fine if you go to the park with your baby in just diapers or for a walk in the stroller. I guess it depends on where you are.

Hey really fed up, you make a good point. Unfortunately, parenting is or can be quite difficult. THis may have been a one time, emergency type of thing. It may be the way they do it all of the time. Instead of criticizing, some people actually could use a friend, support and guidance. You would be surprised at what people don't know.
Some people should not be allowed to keep their children, and be castrated so they won't have any more.

I don't know I used to run around naked when I was little. *shrugs* It doesn't really bother me. I mean who wants to go to all the trouble of dressing a baby in the summer time when you only have to run to the store really quick. I mean if you are going out for the day with the child then yes I would say dressing him or her would be best... but it is not always convenient to do this.

I totally agree. In the home or even out in your own yard would be ok, but NOT in any public building.
I also have to wonder if it's a bad idea letting them run around half dressed with so many pedophiles out there. I don't understand what turns them on, but it seems likely that nakedness would be something they'd enjoy.
