I have a 1989 fuel injected s 10 with a 2.5 in it. It will not start it is getting spark an fuel and oil so I am not sure what i s wrong with it someone told me that the hall effect switch/sensor controls the injector in the throttle body. If anyone knows where it is located I would greatly appreciate it.

the hall effect switch you are looking for is located in the distributor of your vehicle. Your local dealer will be able to show you a picture of exacly where it is located. The GM part number is 1979711 and is mounted to the distibutor shaft housing.

question is the check engine light on if so than maybe its an emission related sensor a hall effect sensor is usually located with the harmonic balancer or crank pulley but if your getting spark and feul than the only thing left to be is a timing issue make sure battery cables are clean double check for spark and double check for feul if you hane the above then the onle other thing would be a timming issue bad cam sensor bad cam or timing chain and gear or belt
