The guy managed to become president and convince Congress to go to war on two occasions all the while convincing everyone that he is an idiot. The guy is either a marrionette controlled by a more powerful figure or he is a genious.

Anyone who thinks they are "smarter" than Presiden Bush is greatly misleading themselves. Most of the posters on these boards have no idea how to run their own lives much less a country.
As for whether or not I am smarter, in some areas, yes and some no. I'm pretty confident that I am more skilled in marketing and advertising than Bush is whereas Bush is obviously more skilled in running an organization than I am.

Yes, but that isn't saying much. While Bush is a dimwit who couldn't find his own butt, his chief adviser Karl Rove is an evil genius who knows how to pull the strings to make the puppet Bush dance. Bush frankly cannot comprehend how his decisions have affected the American people, and Karl Rove wants this because he can continue to maipulate the guy. Some people will say that since he was elected and reelected he must be intelligent but there were other stupid presidents like Reagan, for example, who were popular because of the 'image' they conveyed and many of the American people overlooked the serious policy shortcomings of these leaders. The evil geniuses like Rove and others don't want presidents who are too independent minded, they lose power that way and are not as able to carry out their nefarious deeds.

I am absolutely convinced that yes. my 14-year old brother is also smarter than him because he speaks three languages and knows how to read books. But I'm not trying to sound conceited. Have you read any of the Bushisms? Good thing Bush is surrounded by lots and lots of policy analysts and advisers and also has speechwriters, because left to his own devices he would really make for a sorry, dumb little man.
Speaking of which, funny joke:
Rummy and Bush are sitting in the Oval Office. Rummy tells Bush that three Brazilians died in Iraq today. Bush is absolutely devastated, puts his head on the table and cries. Finally, he looks up and says, "My god! How much is a Brazilian??"

As a layman in the in and outs of politics, yes. He has everyone else running this country, including his dad. He was not voted in by the poplar vote, the electoral colleague screwed that up. He was not wanted by the majority. He had the worst debates in history. How can you screw things up so bad when you have an earpiece feeding answers? As far as his education background, money talks bullshit walks. He probably should have majored in Annunciation.
