All types of over the counter waxes are good. I prefer Meguiars gold class. You can pick it up at any Wal-Mart and Target. The most important thing is to wax your car in the shade and when it's cool to the touch. Take your time and do one section at a time. http://www.meguiars.com/rx/rx_main.asp is a great site that will let you know what pollutants are in your area and let you know what you need to do to take care of your paint.

It depends on what you are lookin for, there are 2 types of wax, natural and synthetic.
Natural wax (carnauba) enhances the shine and clarity of your car paint, Synthetic wax (acrylic, teflon, silicon) lasts longer in your car paint due to molecular bond.
Natural looks better, synthetic lasts longer.
