You are probably itchy for one of two reasons:
1) you have dry skin. To remedy this, be sure to shave properly - after being in the warm shower for several minutes apply a shaving cream. Use a clean razor, replace it every few shaves. Use a good moisturizer immediately after your shower. I've been using Johnson's and Johnson's new lavender baby oil.

2) your skin is very sensitive. If you follow the steps outlined above, you will minimize the trauma on your skin. Use products specifically designed for "sensitive skin." Try using men's facial shaving cream for sensitive skin (it is more gentle). Use something unscented to moisturize after. Remember the "wait five minutes" part b/c this is important in reducing irritation (ever tried "dry shaving" if you were rushing and just wanted to touch-up the legs? Yeah, itchy!).

Use a product with soothing ingredients like aloe vera.

Aloe vera sounds like the best to soothe the irritation caused by shaving. I have also heard suggestions of shaving legs with a cheap conditioner (like Suave) to get rid of the irritation.

Try using a good shave cream while shaving, or you can go cheap and use hair conditioner. Follow up after shaving with an baby oil or a good lotion.

Make sure you use enough shaving cream during and then use some lotion after? I don't really get itchy, but I've had them be a bit dry.

My legs stopped itching after shaving when I started using shaving cream instead of soap.

You can buy special "after shave" lotion and gels sold next to the shaving cream. Regular lotion works pretty well too. Make sure you use enough shaving cream, soap, or conditioner when shaving to avoid irritation. The itichiness is called "razor burn".

Shea Butter or cocoa butter is the best. Stay away from petroleum products that actually end up drying the skin, because it doesn't allow the skin to breathe. Curel is a good product as is the butters from the bath and body shop. There are a bunch of them if you shop smart. Good luck.

I put an aloe lotion on mine and it takes the itch away. :) Most brands out have at least one aloe lotion now. :) Also, Aveeno is very good as well. Good luck!
