Well,News is some new information that is told to the parts of the country it could be featured in.Entertainment is news actually, and it would probably disturb many people to know that there is no entertainment news.(there is a channel in which features entertainment news daily called E! )

I think people are fascinated by the rich and famous. I don't believe it's real news, just things people want to know. I could care less if Angelina and Brad had a baby or that Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah's couch myself, but a lot of people are star struck. I think they should have an 'entertainment minute' or something, to separate it from the news that really matters.

Because celebrities are big business. They make money for the movie industry, publication industry, television...etc. They are what many people want to know about. No its not "real news" but they are considered prominent people and therefore are included in newscast.

In a perfect world, sure. But it's not about what's "real" news or not, it's about what sells. And many, many people are obviously interested in the minutiae of celebrities' lives. So you put in a story about BradAngelinaJenJenBenBritLindsay ... and up go your sales figures. Simple commerce.

What celebrities do is not news. That's what the shows like Entertainment tonight. To the media, please do not give the same amount of attention to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as you do to our President and what is happening in Iraq. Who cares what Jolie and Pitt do with their lives? Not me!

We have put them there. Perhaps not you or I but large masses of people idolize "stars" and spend a great deal of time attempting to follow them, buying their merchandise and so on. We keep them famouse and so it is reported as news because we have made them such and important part of our lives. I think its ridiculous some times, but there are instances where they make noteworthy news.

I think it should be separated, but I don't think it will happen. The media will lead with whatever they think the people are interested in, and that usually is whatever the other media outlets are leading with. It's a vicious cycle.

celebrities are not real news. if you take out the celebrities and we are still not seeing "real" news. each news agency puts there spin on the story, so we are actually seeing what that particular agency's perception on the events is.
