Welfare and foodstamps have created a generation of baby machines that do nothing but cause trouble for society. When I am in the check out line with my small amount of groceries I have to watch the family in front load their hundreds of dollars of groceries (all kinds of junk food and stuff and of course name brands, no generics) and then pull out their card thing from the government. They usually have a bunch of kids and of couse the woman is pregnant again.
These people use their free time commiting crimes and getting fat. The young children get wic which buys breakfast stuff till age 5 and then they get free breakfast in pre k and then they get the food bought from the food stamps. I see more obese children in the welfare group than any other. Welfare was supposed to help the needy but has become a steady income for some many lazy people, many that don't even belong in this country

You seem sorely misguided. Welfare helped me grow up with my single disabled mom. I'm now a productive member of society, serving my country as a military officer. The few people who abuse the system give it a bad reputation for all of those who are truly in need of a helping hand to get on their feet.
Some people have no issues donating to charities for other countries, or a certain cause, and then they turn their noses up at a program to help the people nearby who have a genuine need. It's not the welfare system that's destructive, it's the few people who abuse it, AND the people who misunderstand it and lead others to hate it, that cause the problems.

Hey numb nuts try applying your same theory to the real Welfare given 100 fold in seed money, the large corporations of America rather then any chicken feed that ends up on the table of the poor! How destructive has that been? Do you have any logical reasoning abilities? Let me hear how the corporations know how to spend it wiser lol!

Maybe it has caused some people to always be dependent on welfare but it has also saved millions of people from starvation and dependence on 'faith based' groups.
My Mother said that will she was young (about 85 years ago) the poor people almost starved to death. There was no government programs to help anyone.
So what if we have a few that are dependent on others for their livlihood. That is better than watching millions starve during a downturn of the economy.

I look at this from a different prospective: When welfare allowed mothers to stay at home, they knew where their children were, who their friends were, and what they were doing.
Sending parents to full time jobs (usually minimum wage ones), in my opinion, is why we now have so many gang members and underage sex, drinking, drugs, etc. No one knows anything about what their children are doing.
Additionally, these minimum wage jobs welfare forces the parents to work at, pretty much keeps them at the poverty level. There needs to be another way - other options for parents to make money legitimately - and still be home for their kids (and teens need more watching than pre-schoolers).

Welfare has helped actually. Homelessness and hungar would be considerable worse. What would you suggest the government does? Nothing? However, I do agree that people start depending on it and don't decide to get jobs. But that doesn't mean it's entirely destructive.

I've been told that the introduction of Parmalat to American distribution has had far-reaching and catastrophic effects on office kitchens and morning coffee.

it's a terrible system. i work with a guy who has 5 kids, and isn't "legally" married to his wife so they can just leach off of the system. want to know what his tax return figures were, and bear in mind that he made no more than $24K this past year. his return was $6K. tell me that's not corrupt.
