My husband and I are about to try conceiving. I have this anxious feeling that I will be too stressed during my pregnancy. I work full time as a legal assistant and I go to school part time. All of this is Monday through Friday with no break, except the weekends. I am trying to get a sense of who has done all of this while pregnant. Any advice?

My sister in law did the same thing! She is a full time R.N. and was going to school for her masters at night and pregnant all at the same time. She also had a supportive husband who was a big help with her 8 year old son and did much house work! That is the key here, how much will your husband help out, he needs to really step it up if he's not already. I think it's 100% doable if he will help

It's all about what you can handle....I found that when I was pregnant (all 3 times), I glowed. I felt health and alive, especially when the babies would move. I would use right now as a gauge....if you are already feeling too stressed, maybe you should wait a bit until your life settles down. A new baby in the house, getting into a routine, can definitely cause stress. Excellent pre natal care is a must so make sure you have time for routine examinations during the pregnancy. But I would say take a good long look into the future and be sure this is the right time for you. No one woman can tell another how her body and mind are going to react during a pregnancy as each pregnancy is unique in itself. Should you decide to proceed, I wish you the best of luck and the best of health for you and your child.

I had two full time jobs during my second pregnancy...working 40 hours per week as a legal secretary, then going home to my six month old son and taking care of him all night. (My husband worked nights, so I was the only one to get up with the baby when he woke during the night.) I woke up at 6:30 a.m. every day, pretty much went go go go non-stop all day long until I fell into bed at night at around 11:00 p.m. My second son was fine when he was born, and I didn't have any problems during my pregnancy. I think you'll be fine. Worst case scenario (if you're truly worried) is to put school on hold for a while. I'm sure you'll be fine. :)

Oh my - you really have a full plate. I think at the beginning the biggest problem you are going to have is how TIRED you will be. Unbelievably tired! But after the first three months that will go away and you'll just be left with the rest of the stress! Yikes! Try to be organized and don't set high expectations for yourself - get HELP from anyone and everyone! Good luck and enjoy as much of it as you can - pregnancy and delivery are truly unique experiences, and as soon as you have that baby in your arms you will realize that it was all worth it.

When I found out I was pregnant I was in college and had two jobs. One full time and one on the weekend.

I quit college and my weekend job a few weeks later because I couldn't handle the stress, plus I was so full of emotions..not to mention morning sickness. I worked my full time job Mon-Fri until 3 days before my son was born. I think it would be a good idea to work because it keeps you active and alert. But you should never put yourself in a stressful situation at that time. IF you know for sure that it will cause stress then you should slow things down a bit. Good luck!

Yes it is hard. I do it now and it is very stressful. But I can tell you that if you really want a baby it is very worth it. If you do not have the time to even be pregnant why would want to have a baby you don't have the time for?

I would definitely let your doctor know what your day to day schedule is. He or she may suggest that you cut back and/or might have some medication for your anxiety during your pregnancy to cope so you will be able to have a healthier pregnancy for you and your baby. Best of luck to you.

I worked, ran a house, and helped my parents with their house all while pregnant with my first two daughters.... It's very do-able. You just have to remember to take care of yourself while you're pregnant. Besides you would be surprised how many breaks you can catch when you are preggy. Just remember to come home and do what ever you like to do to relax.....AND put your feet up!
