well, certainly, it is possible to collect charity funds from films, but what's a story appropriate for collecting funds? And would it be attractive enough for most people? And even if some stars do want to volunteer on this kind of project, what guarantee that the film would be great, and actually produces money, some films are known to be unable to cover even the money used to create the films, and a great film need not a hundred bucks, but a hundred grands.
It is more rational for singers to make a charity albums, since usually in a charity album, there is only one or two songs per singers, so they don't waste their time so much, and recording songs take much less time and money than making a film.

no one would do that, and if you actually got a bunch of stars for a movie, do you honestly think they would want a random guy like you to film it?
And anyways, like I said, no ones generous enough(besides you it seems) to do that. A movie costs ALOT of money to make and no ones going to throw all that away. The most you could hope for was a percentage of the profits to go to charity and you would be better off just trying to convince the bigshots from a soon to be released big hit movie into giving up some profits to charity.

Based on your screen-name you look like you are (well more likely--trying to be) a producer. Good luck trying to bring that project together....I'm sure the movie will get a lot of backing and blow the audience away. Sorry about being sarcastic, but I think the answer to your question is that the film industry is too flaky and an uncertain (risky) market to try and get a serious charity project successfully completed in.

They already had a movie like that---Ocean's Eleven and Twleve. But there's no way money goes to charities. There's too much ego at stake with A-list stars. You can't have 12 A list stars working for months for free....

sounds like a great idea but I really doubt any thing like that happening to many people working for free just don't happen that often.
