Anyone know how to crack open a 4inch diameter rock at home?

The kids want to know if the rock they found has crystals in it, LOL!

Spike and a heavy hammer, like a mini mallet. If you have a chisel, you that on a strategic spot on the rock (with a heavy mallet).

to do want you want to see if there is any crystaline formation inside it would be better to use a small 100mm diamond blade on a 100mm grinder making sure that the stone is firmly supported/held an cutting very slowly
