About 9 years ago I was dating a girl that had a one year old daughter. Well, now she's back in my life (I haven't seen her since), and her daughter is of course older.
Anyway, what I'd like to know, is since I was around a lot when she was a toddler, do you think that she remembers my voice?

Thanks for all the answers guys. I really appreciate it.
Just to clarify: no, I didn't do anything bad to her. If I did, I certainly wouldn't be coming back! I was mostly just wondering if somehow it would be a comforting thing to her. Maybe my clock is ticking and I need kids of my own :)

Hi Nick,
People can be real jerks sometime.
The girl probably won't remember you to the extent of "I remember when I was 1 and you played with me". But children are very adaptable. She'll "sense" your intentions toward her and will act accordingly.
Don't try too hard and just let things flow. Second chances are great!
Good luck.

Good question. I'm sure she won't remember you, since very few people can remember things from age 1, but she might feel more comfortable with you, having had you there at an important time in her development.
Good luck!

It depends on how long you were around her, how much time you actually spent with her and spoke to her, and exactly how old she was...but it is possible. Not likely, but like I said, it depends... my daughter is 20 months old and she recognizes voices on the phone, but who knows if she will remember them if she didn't hear them for 9 years. That IS a pretty long time...hope I helped a little! :)

IT IS VERY HARD TO SAY. I THINK KIDS REALLY DON'T BEGIN REMEMBERING EVENTS OR PEOPLE UNTIL THEY ARE A LEAST THREE, UNLESS THEY HAVE SEEN OR BEEN AROUND THEM THE WHOLE TIME. KIDS USUALLY HAVE A VERY SHORT TERM MEMORY, ALSO. MY DAUGHTER, WHO IS EIGHT, HASN'T SEEN HER FATHER'S SISTER SINCE SHE WAS ONE , AND RECENTLY SHE SAW A PICTURE OF HER THAT I HAD SHOWN HER, AND I ASKED HER DID SHE REMEMBER VISITING HER AND SHE SAID SHE DID NOT REMEMBER HER AT ALL. BUT THAT IS ONLY ONE EXAMPLE

Simply, no. 1 year old have zero ability to store those types of memories. They are too busy developing.
