some people are on this sight for help with a personal problems and some are on to learn, and some of the advice they get means alot too them. my question is why do some people have the dumbest things to say..if u don't have anything useful to say why say anything at all..!!!

Some people are really stupid but they are deluded into thinking that they really are smart and that people want to hear what they have to say. Some people are so strong willed they don't take the time to actually think about what they say. Others have no other contact with the outside world so they just bash and crash around perhaps just to get proof that they are in this world getting reactions from others. A shut mouth makes a wise head. Good question!

B/c believe it or not, this world is cruel and some people just do not care. You have some people that do not mind giving others advice or trying to help them out in any way possible. Then again you have people that just are silly, ignorant, or confused. Don't let it get next to you b/c I don't. There are times I ask questions, and you would be surprised at what some people say. Some are so thoughtful and kind...and some are cruel, rude, and dumb.

I agree. People should be more careful. A few days ago a teenage girl was seeking help re: her parent's divorce. You could tell she was at the breaking point. Some jerk wrote a long inane comment that was totally inappropriate. i guess he wanted to show off what a good story teller he was. We should keep in mind that flip comments don't always fit the situation. Some people are bored - but others are crying out for help and a little compassion.

I completely agree with every word. There are people on here you seriously value the opinions of others and are interested in the opinions of others and/or would like the advice of others to help a situation. Then there are kids on here and even adults who act like children on this site who post ridiculous questions and sometimes perverted, demeaning questions and tend to answer our serious questions with snide remarks. There is an overwhelming amount of kids on here who ask the same ridiculous questions over and over again. Too bad there isn't a way to filter them out. Reporting abuse only goes so far.

My guess is that people think it's fun to be rude or they think its funny. Some people think they are sooo smart and your question is soo dumb that they think they some sort of "right" to be a jackars. My other assumption is that a good amount of answers on here are very very young about 13-15.
I am going to say "Most of the general population is rude, selfish and ignorant." So when you on a website like this your opening yourself up to a large group of people who's only qualifications are the fact they own a computer so you just have to assume that you are going to have to deal with certain amount of nonsense when you post a question.

Because some people are jerks and don't realize that most of the people are here for a valid reason, not just to pass the time.
Then there are those idiots that ask the stupidest questions (about boogers, burying gramma while still alive, etc). Those people deserve dumba$$ answers.
For the rest, I couldn't help you. It's just human nature to be a smarta$$ I guess.

They are just immature and have nothing else better to do. You would think they would go outside like we did as kids but no they would rather sit in front of the computer all day and annoy people and get points for this stuff!!! I know exactly what you are talking about

When I get up in the morning, I sometimes like to have my coffee while browsing on this site, and the worst is when the first question you see has to do with either racism, hate or just some dumb *** disgusting question. It makes for a bad day sometimes.
Soon, no one will want to spend any time on here!

JueJue is right -- because they can. The same goes for repeat questions; for example, you asked pretty much this exact same question 17 hours before this thread. Why? Because you can! I'm not criticizing here, I'm just pointing out a particular feature of Yahoo Answers that can be a double-edged sword.

I have noticed there are alot of hateful people on here, but also some very sweet and helpful ones. Just weed out the jerks and heed the good advice.
