Ummm Cher was married to Sonnie Bono, not Bono from U2. Sonnie died back in the late 90's sometime. They just couldn't work things out I guess.

He was possessive and controlling and stifled her self-expression. (My guess is as good as any :) They'd been divorced a long time before he hit the tree!

No....they divorced because according to her....he was controlling...hard to believe.
