the company filed chapter 7 and close its doors as of 5p/Thursday 7/6 - hr reported that they will overnite the checks for friday delivery - i tracked the package - it wont be here until saturday!! Am I receiving a dummy check? will this check be no good. Did my company do this to me and my former employees on purpose.

I doubt it. That check is probably going to be good.

If possible go to the bank that it was drawn on and cash it. It is always possible it wont be good but chances are it is good.
If the Chapter 7 was finalized then you would not get a check. You would be considered a creditor and your wages would be lost in the bankruptcy. Could be the check is bad and they are listing all employees as creditors.

probably not. if the check was by the outsourceing comapny there is a good chance that the money is already there, but if I were you cash it as soon as possible.

as soon as you get it cash it right away the companies reserve account may run out
it may or may not bounce
