I don't think you need schooling but the place might make you go through intensive training.

Doggy daycare is the same thing as any normal kennel where dogs are boarded. The time frame is just shorter spans, and more frequent stays. Some kennels have special privileges for their daycare dogs. Some will only do daycare. It's still the same qualifications (must be able to handle walking dogs, bleaching kennels, feeding, etc. plus, good work ethic and people skills) to work there. There's no school required. I worked at a doggy daycare in middle school! As far as pay, it's the same as kennel help, maybe $6-7 dollars an hour. It's usually a part-time gig, so the pay's not great. If you want to open your own, that's a whole different story. There's a great market for that. Especially in areas where the income level is high, but not so high that you have a lot of stay-at-home parents. It's a lot of poop-scooping and general cleaning, so unless you're a teenager calling your summer-job a "career", the only way to make a living in doggy daycare is to own your own.
Hope this helps!

It can be extremely difficult to make enough money to pay the bills by working with animals. Most vet clinics pay very poorly for their kennel help, and I can't imagine a dog daycare would pay much better.
I've gone into debt trying to stay in a field where I can work with animals, and after three years I'm just now starting to make enough money to actually make ends meet. I've never been able to get any benefits working with animals. If my husband didn't have health insurance, I'd be out of luck there.
My advice to anyone who wants to work with animals is to get a job that can pay the bills and volunteer at a zoo, wildlife rehabilitation center, or animal shelter in your free time. You may be lucky enough to be able to work your way into a paying position in the future, but don't ever count on working with animals to be a career that can make you any money.

A doggy day care job would be so cool. You know there will be job security because so many people have dogs. Go for it. No schooling required just learn from the people and pets as you go.

Go to all the vets around and apply as an animal care person, cleaning cages, helping the staff by holding pets to give shots etc, if they know you really love animals they will more then likely give you a chance, then you can find out about advancement once you get in.

No, they don't make alot of money and you really have to love the animals to do this on a daily basis. If you could get a class or two about animal behavior, it would help so you know what you're dealing with and how to handle various behaviors.

No training needed. Just the love and understanding of dogs and there (ways). As long as you have owned dogs in the past or present you will do good there.

I think in most states you have to get a professinal animal handlers licence. If I were you i would call a vets office and tell them you are interested, and ask them what you would need.

I don't know your age but, I would encourage you to not look at the money but if you REALLY would enjoy the job. Let say YES, you really enjoy it then look into opening your own shop to increase your income. Good luck !
