Although Doctors would argue the fact that clear nail polish works it does. I grew up in Arkansas and in the wods most of my life. I can tell you it does work!!!!!!!! Of course any color will do but clear is best since you don't want to go around looking like a giant poka-dot ;o)
Matches are for ticks and I wouldn't want to apply a warm match to my body for something as simple as a chigger. You might scar from the heat of the match.

Cover the chigger area with nail polish. If the area is visible, use clear. It smothers the little buggers.

clear nail polish, but be sure not to scratch the area before because that tears up the skin, and it stings like crazy when you put the nail polish on. keep reapplying it every day until the chigger is gone.

put some of the OFF spray on your skins and the chiggers will not bother you. You will be invisible to all the bugs.

DE, Diatomaceous Earth available at organic gardening centers. If you have animals, pets etc, use the CODEX type which is safe for them to be exposed too. They could even eat it safely! When spreading it (it's a dust, like a powder) use breathing protection and eye protection and don't put it down on windy days

Dilute bleach with water, about 1 cap full of bleach to 1 tub of water. This should help.

Strike a match, blow it out, then imm. put in on the spot. Otherwise, I would try vasaline, or teatree oil, but I know for sure the matches work
