pubic hair is purely to keep your vitals warm also that's why your balls shrivel and get smaller because their keeping warm closer to the body but when your hot, your balls swell and droop because this is to let cool air circulate the testies and you say you don't get cold down there what about when you've been in the bath or shower and on a winters morning its freezing and they shrivel up and your penis shrinks?

Good question. If you assume that they evolved when we were mostly naked, it could actually be warmth or, as some predict, to hold onto pheromones.
I like Hellion's answer too. You'dbe surprised what a diff a littl hair makes. I know someone with no eyebrows and he says it's amazing how much stuff rolls into his eyes.

It's widely disputed whether they offer protection from bacteria (like your arm-pit hair) or whether they hold scents to attract partners. The purpose hasn't officially been discovered yet, although it might have been to protect the genitals from the elements back before human beings were hunters and spent all their time running through the woods after wild game (the reason why human beings are mainly hairless).

It has to be there so people know when a girl is no longer a girl but a woman, and a man is no longer a boy but a man. It's a sign for maturity. When woman wax it off they feel very exposed like a little girl again so it's a good way to hide your stuff.

Well since we here in the US go around with clothes on, they don't serve much of a purpose....but for those people in countries where they go around naked all the time, they are for protection of some sort, I think

There , there to keep your bits warm, and protect it. Its like every other bit of hair on your body it protects a certain part of your body its always there for a reason.

the idea is that the hair would catch anything that might travel to your important parts (wink wink) before it gets there.
like, if you're sweating, or bleeding, and its making its way down, its gonna have to fight through the forest before it can carry bacteria or germs.
