Alright, this is a very open question but...
what do you think of the red sox this year?? and all the new guys?
and i dont wanna hear...'oh red sox suck!' this is ONLY for red sox fans or anyone who cares about them!

Hi,
I've been a Red Sox fan since 1981. I am very excited about this 2006 Red Sox team cause of the young talent we finally have: Craig Hansen, Manny Delcarmen, Jonathan Papelbon, Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Kevin Youkillis and Josh Beckett.
The only issue I have with Beckett is his fastball. If you watch him compared to a Lester, Beckett's fastball this season seems to straight over the middle half of the plate.
Lester, Hansen, Delcarmen and Papelbon, all seem to be hitting the outside corners with their fastball; enough to get the white part of the plate, which is a strike.
Hitting those outside corners throwing 94+ mph will force the hitters to either fly out or hit ball on ground, if they make contact that is.
All this being said, I still think Boston needs to add another starting pitcher. Problem is who is out there? Plus would Sox have to give up Lester and/or Hansen? By dealing Lester for another SP makes no sense cause you still have hole in rotation at #5 slot.

Great question.Honestly I love this team,I'm a die hard Red Sox fan.I love their pitching rotation, Beckett is amazing, Schilling is on fire this year[the last couple games not so much, but he will get it back, he always does]Lester, what an increbilbe young pitcher, with Timlin, DelCarmen, and Foulke[hopefully hes off the DL after the break] and Paplebon as their closer they are amazing.Their infield, theirs not enough praise to go around.Youkie has really shown what a great ball player he is this year,Loretta, Gonzelaz, Lowell they cant be stopped.With Manny, Trot {who I just love, what an amazing athlete] and Crisp, nothing goes by them or through them.And Varitez and Mirablli, they are the best in the game.This team is awesome, and I'm very proud to call myself a Red Sox fan.And people who make jokes or say they suck WHERE is your team at in the standings??And to all Yankee fans and White Sox fans we will see you in the playoffs, you can count on that.

Okay, before you say anything, YES I'm a die hard Yankee Fan, but I do what to answer this question...and I'm not going to say the Red Sox suck or anything like that...they have a good team this year...I think they'll finish in 2nd place...but I still think they'll make the playoffs as the wild card...if they can over take the Tigers ( which I hope they do, yes, I said I hope they make the wildcard ) why, because think about it...come on...would it really be the playoffs with out the Red Sox and The Yankees...really?

No one cares about the people that care about the red sox either.
when will you AL east ppl learn that the world series champ of '06 is coming out of the AL central and that every other team in every other division is just a space filler to fill out the requirements for an official league.
and go sox!

I absolutely love the red sox and I ADORE Josh Beckett!! He is a fabulous pitcher and I'll be at the game tomorrow rooting them on to victory!!!

I love the new infield. Best fielding in the league.
And I'm glad all this "idiots" stuff is over with. These guys are all serious and professional. Even Manny has been behaving. Unfortunately the starting and reliever pitching has been kind of weak, but Papelbon is incredible.

I am a loyle Red Socks fan here, but still think they won't make it all the way. The now have the Nomar Garcia Para curse because the traded him to the freakin cubs..... They're going to loose because of that.

I love them. There is no Nomar curse - they traded him before they won the World Series. I think the new guys are fantastic. I was heartbroken when Johnny left, but Mike Lowell is my new favorite player now. I love everyone on the team, & I'm so happy Gabe is back & doing well.

they're doing really good this year. i think Mike Lowell is an amazing addition at 3rd base. Kevin Youkilis is a good first basemen (although his last name does sound like a diesase), hes not an amazing leadoff hitter, but he gets the job done. coco crisp is an awesome dude. and obviousally big papi gets the job done.
