That's what it sounds like. Nearly everyone has hemorrhoids at some time. They can develop at any age, but the incidence increases after age 30. About 50% of people older than 50 have had hemorrhoids at some time in their life.
It's can be treated really easily. Go to your doctor and they can prescribe you some suppositories. Also, you can try some stool softener medication and some fiber supplements. You can buy this over the counter at any drug store.
Good luck!

hello,
Not to be gross but if the blood is in your stool, i would seriously contact your physician, if its only when you wipe then It sounds like you may have hemorroids. If you feel an uncomfortable feeling in that area or there is like a growth of skin, its hemmrroids. They sell many over the counter products such as Preperation H, which comes in all forms, wipes, cream, vaseline. I recommend trying that first, it takes 2-3 days to go away and most of the time it works. Good luck!

okay,........it very well could be a hemorrhoid, but in my case it was a fissure, which is a tear. If this has been going on for awhile you need to see a doctor because the fissure (tear) is having a hard time healing itself and you may have to have it surgically repaired or the doctor can PRESCRIBE something for that called Analpram. Like someone else said if the blood is mixed in with your stool definitely see a doctor, if the blood is on the outside (streaking) than it is "usually" a fissure or a hemorrhoid, something along that lines. Also warm baths will help. FIBER, fiber, fiber.

Your best bet is to go to a doctor nobody should advise you regarding this condition.Rectal Bleeding
Rectal bleeding is a sign that something is wrong. It is usually something minor that can be easily diagnosed, but not always. It is, therefore, important that the specific cause of rectal bleeding be identified so appropriate treatment can be started and the problem corrected
Even though rectal bleeding may not be serious, an individual should never assume this to be the case. Most importantly, rectal bleeding may be a sign of rectal cancer. This site gives you all kinds of information, but that doesn't mean you should avoid going to the doctor because they can give you medicine to clear this up. Above all don't worry because that only makes it worse. Good luck.

Drink a lot of water
Eat some fiber, IE bran, raw veggies
Go for a walk
Take an over the counter stool softener
Use a suppository, i.e. preparation H
if this doesn't help go see a doctor.
This happened to me, even ran a fever of 103. Ended up getting my gall bladder out.

you do need to see a doctor but until you can get in for a appointment. Take milk of magnesia just 2 tablespoons and drink plenty of water to loosen up the stool. The reason it is so hard is lack of fluids/but also you didnt say if you are on any medications such as lasix which draws fluid out of your body and to the kidneys to pass through. If you take this medication it can cause that problem. also if you dont want to medicate eat prunes or drink prune juice that will keep you regular and the stool not as hard.

you probably tore your butthole with those dry stools, it's called an anal fissure , they are very tough to heal. going every couple of days isn't normal, you should go every day. take a fiber supplement daily, like metamucal , sometimes bleeding out your butt can be ulcers, but if you have a bleeding ulcer, your stool will be black in color where your system tries to digest the blood. red blood is usually a tear in your butthole, they usually don't heal on their own either, from what I have read, it usually takes surgery. they may heal if you get more fiber in your diet and stay away from the anal sex. good luck.

This happened to me, you probably have a tear in your back passage, drink more water and use laxatives for a week, it's because the #2 is hard and dry, this can tear the inside, and it's also a warning to drink more water.

You definitely need lots of fiber in your diet. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.
Eating prunes or drinking prune juice every day helps.

If you've blood in your stool and there's also a discharge, you need to see a doctor. Get a visit now. It might just be an infected cut, but it could be much MUCH MORE SERIOUS.
Don't delay by asking/answering questions - Go! NOW!
