well it all dends on what type of grill your looking for. If you looking for the basic run of the mill grill. Then aug-mid sept is your best bet. I sell BBQ's for Home Depot and coem aug the actually start to get the winter items in and get set up for the upcomming season. I have sold snowblowers in aug believe it or not. If you have any questions on what grill might be the one for you just ask

RE:
When is the best time to buy a gas grill?
We had planned to get a grill this summer and never did, so I thought it might be best to wait until the end of the season when they might be on sale. Does anyone know?

After labor day is a great time to buy one. Either close out prices or some can haggle the price and the manager might be willing just so he won't have to restock it.

At the end of the grilling season they go on sale. I bought mine last year at Wal-Mart for half price, but you have to watch closely because they mark them down and they go fast.

At the end of the season BEFORE the store sends them back - try to negotiate the price.

You are correct about waiting till the end of the season, that is when the best prices will be.
