the think the matrix wont be traded this year but if ever the suns dont have a good start this coming season then maybe there is a little chance of that happening in next year's trading deadline. d'antoni made it clear that they wont tinker with their core this year and will think about salary cap problems when the time comes. we all know that they will have to make a huge desicion next year with marion and diaw's contracts expiring. but as of now i dont think he'll be traded...

Tim Thomas wasn't traded. He was a free agent who signed with the Clippers.
Regarding Shawn Marion, I really don't think he'll be dealt. Phoenix has given Mike D'Antoni control and he's said over and over again that it wouldn't make sense to trade Marion, especially with Amare Stoudemire coming off of two surgeries and the Suns so close to winning a title. The Bulls were at one time the frontrunner to landing Marion in a deal, but those talks have apparently died completely with the Bull's new focus on Minnesota's Kevin Garnett and Atlanta's Al Harrington. The most recent rumor I heard was the Suns trading Marion to the Sonics for Rashard Lewis and their 10th pick, but that apparently has fallen through, too.
I'd be shocked if Marion wasn't a Sun at the start of the season.

I believe that Marion WILL be a Sun next year. The Suns are already close to winning a title and they wouldn't want to screw up their chemistry by trading away one of their best, most versatile veteran players. However, Marion's contract is very big, so I'm sure they will take a look at trading him for cheaper players. But, I don't see them taking that risk until, at least, next offseason.

Over the years, there has always been rumours about Marion being traded. However, now, i think the rumours are taking an affect. I believe the Suns are actually looking to trade him. Not seriously looking, but gaging any offer that comes.
With Amare back, the Suns might be looking to unload his contract for cap reasons.

he still could very well get traded, amare stoudemire is comin back next year and the suns already have boris diaw. somethins gotta give, and i think Marion has the bigger contract thn Diaw, so i would say more thn likely Marion will not b a sun next year.

I don't think it going to happen because Stoudemire is coming back next and they will have a greater chance of winning the finals.
