If this is how feel. I would suggest monitoring your thoughts. If there are negative ones they will dissipate just by your recognition. You're probably in a situation where there is boredom. Boredom is a profound statement of starving your soul. There is more to this life that you wish to experience. You must do some searching to find out what this is. That which brings you joy by thinking about it, is what your soul wishes to experience. Even if it may seem the necessary elements to make this come to pass are not present, you must look at the roots of this feeling and find what it is your lacking in your experience of this life. Remain focused upon that which you desire, and the universe will bring it to your feet. Focus on your breathing 2 times a day. And think of what it is you desire immediately after. Feel the emotion with it. Focus... It's all about focus. Take time out for peace & stillness, and the universe will lend it's wonderful powers to you. Enjoy the present because it really is a "PRESENT", you've created it. Don't like it? Choose again and enjoy wonderful adventures =)

We may not feel but most of the times we are prisoner of our desires. At some points in our lives we make some decisions and then go auto pilot.
If you took a degree in Accounting and become the Finance Vice President - you are in auto pilot mode of this job no matter how much you crave to design a New Jet Engine which can save your corporation billions !

I used to have that feeling everyday, but now I can say that every day makes difference. I think it is the matter of how much busy you are and whether you have time set for introspection.
I try to do it every morning, with prayer, trying to figure the direction of my life.
And then, keeping big picture in your head you can run into the day, reminding yourself that everyday routine is not meaningless.
Maybe it only makes sense when you are motivated to do what you usually do (work, family duties, leisure), so I hope you will find your niche, and every day will bring you joy and pleasant surprises.
Blessings!!!

I live at the U.S. Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. (1,500 residents)

I would venture to guess that 10 persent or more of the residents here are on auto pilot.

Thank God, I am only 67, so I am young enough to not advanced to that stage yet.

Hahah.....all of us now feel like that at times! I think it's just the times we live in! We all have too many irons in the fire! I don't know what you're in to as far as relaxation. Try to have a moment or two to block everything out like with yoga or some thing close to that~ It makes us feel grounded and is great for the body and mind!

It depends on your perspective on life.

If you want to make change you will go through life seeing each day as a challenge.

If you just want to make it through the day that is what you will do.

The question is what do you want out of life?

What do you want out of today?

If you think your life is on auto pilot, it is. You let it get that way. And, you can change it if you want to.

Ask yourself, what do you want and go for it? Suddenly, you will be in overdrive once more.

Unfortunately too many of us are not taking advantage of life. Comfort is important, but risktaking is far more rewarding - and in the end, do you really want to regret the time you didn't take to enjoy life?
