I don't understand what is meant by the numbers in brackets when a score of a match is displayed. thats how the scores are always displayed cro:jpn 4:3(2:0)

the numbers in brackets indicates the score at half time..
just for ur info, let me tell u extra information about how to read scoreline..so that u wont ask again next time..

if the score has something written like this: a.e.t (2:0)(1:0)
a.e.t. means after extra time..the first parenthesis are the final score after extra time and the second parentheses are the half time score of the extra time..

and if the score is like this: a.e.t. (1:1)(0:0) 4:2 PSO
that means the score was 1:1 after extra time, the (0:0) indicates the score at half time of the extra time which tells us that none of the teams has scored at half time of the extra time and the 4:2 is the score for the penalty shootout..

this is all u need to know about scoreline i think..
