I would say it's not a case of extremism, it's more of a case of "we're better than the world" attitude.

We have a lot of great things here in the States, but not the whole kit n' kaboodle. Sorry.

You can't paint all American people with one brush. The USA is made up of so many different kinds of people from all over the world, that there is definitely no common viewpoint.

Some people are acting out in more extreme ways to get their voices heard. They may get the most press, but they don't represent the views of the whole nation.

More extreme in their views, and I think it started from 9/11. We even started to fight for what we don't believe on.
