About Career in webdesign and 2D animation in INDIA?

Question

Hi, do web designers, esp. Flash professionals make good money in India? What salary can I expect as a fresher?Which additional softwares do you recommend that I learn to land a great job in 2D animation? I would appreciate some gud guidance, thanks.

Career Opportunities are always good for people with talent anywhere in the world.

Don't worry about people like Antony who think India is a place where they make carpets and ride on elephants. Being an American who is working on Outsourced Projects to India, I know first-hand how different India is to the general misconceptions many people people have about your country.

There's just one little thing that I was wondering about and that was whether you know that the Film Industry in India is among the largest in the World?

This is a fact, you know. India produces more movies than Hollywood does.

Now, I wonder if you've ever heard of a guy called Walt Disney. He was a guy who specialized in making these goofy cartoons to entertain little kids with and his name, today, is a multi-billion dollar industry!

Now, since I've come to India, I've seen that your "Computer Training" Insitutions are real rip-offs. So, if this is the career you'd like, I'd say go for it; but use the resources of the Net to do your study free-of-cost and at low cost.

Don't let people dampen your enthusiasm, young lady. India has great potential for being the country from where you could launch your own full length cartoon film! Besides, You have so many English and Indian language Televison Channels that such a venture would well be the way to your making millions, literally!

OK, let me tell you few things, if you are planning to join a web designing complany in India and learn lot of money, it may be difficult. I know people who have started web designing companies in India and earned lot of money from US. They pay really less to there employees.

What I would suggest is, if you are good in web designing, try looking for a job in a big corporation for their inhouse IT projects. Once you are in the job, try finding some small projects. In that case you will be getting money from your job as well as the part time external projects.

For creating a simple flash page, say a flash page with 3 menu buttons which launches HTML pages, an Indian Company will charge there US client somewhere between 600-800 dollars, this will include, design, development (HTML and FLASH). In addition they will charge the client for web server and domain if required.

I have done this work for some time from India and later when I moved to US for some time I was getting projects from US and assigning to a team in India. Later I stopped it because it was too much of work for me and I was earning enough to survive and save here.

See India is underdevloped country n every field in this region is Booming. So if you have hardwork, Innovation, Good persnality, Smartness n etc... then u can achieve anything in the world. If u r not sure in yes or no then u should try some other like graphic design, commercial artist take a spacial training not more than 6 months and devlop ur own business and invest ur money approx 2 lacs in this business. In the starting u r not sure abt animation then no point to do this class.

Being an Indian, I dont think so that getting a job is easy and on the top getting a good job is easy. Dozens of institues are there on the road side teaching everything. The options which does work is going for a recognized degree or diploma in say MCA and side by side going for courses in the stream you are interested in so that your job is a good organisation can be secured... if you dont get campus placement, you are bumped.

Lol, from what I know about India, technology is not the prime industry. If you are woring in India, get some job to do with resources and refining like making carpets, rugs and stuff. If you want to get into that type of career, move to Canada, America, Japan (really good in japan), Switzerland, the UK, and places like that.

i am not working in India so i cann't help u about the salary of working there
but if u wanna work as webdesigner or multimedia designer
u must be familiar with HTML(Hyper text mark up language)
then try to work with some programs like microsoft Frontpage or Macromedia dream weaver to make html files
if u wanna work on animations , u must learn macromedia flash mx or swish max for making flash movies

well depend on person skill and talent. if you know to create module and art on paper you should go for maya. if u start basic in india and if you need to go for foriegn job u are always welcome. i know person from in india working in toronto and usa getting high scale. Basically u can do course from imagine or mac. today world is all abt animation and 3D. So dont wait go ahead.
