Consider having your makeup done professionally. If you decide to do it yourself, have a free professional makeover before the wedding and ask for detailed instructions on how to achieve your desired look. Choose the most lightweight foundation possible while still getting the coverage you need because heavier foundations will look more obvious. Wear waterproof eye makeup so that tears of joy or the heat of summer don't make for streaks or smears. Use various shades of shadow to add definition to your eyes, then add a hit of liner for drama. Resist the temptation to go for bold lines, bright colors or glitter, unless that's your usual look. Curl lashes for length and definition but skip the false eyelashes. You don't want to risk having them peel off or rotate throughout the day. Stick to a soft and delicate tone for lipstick, as bold or dark colors might be overpowering. Remember to match the hues in your blush to those in your lipstick. Contour your face with blush or bronzer, even if it's not part of your daily routine. It will give your skin a healthy glow and subtly define your features.
Tips:
Pluck your eyebrows or have them waxed the day before your wedding. If you or a makeup artist play with them the morning of the wedding, they might appear red or blotchy in your pictures.
Consider a lipstick that has staying power. All those kisses and sips of Champagne will leave you little time to reapply.
Opt for a foundation that contains sunscreen if you plan to have an outdoor wedding.
I would highly recommend the Lasting Lip colors at Victoria Secret. I was very weary of their claim, but the color looks great all day long and it comes with a gloss. I would stay away from the frosted colors as they look unnatural. But overall, this is a great product.

Be sure to use an eyeshadow base, and water proof mascara. Try the cover girl stay on lipcolors, but don't use the gloss with them, it makes them come off faster. Mine will stay on for well over 20 hours. Estee Lauder used to make maxium coverage makeup, it doesn't come off. It was actually for woman who had surgery, but you can apply that type of makeup VERY light & just where you need it (under eyes, blemishes, etc). Then I would proubly use a dual finish powder for the rest of your face, so you can touch up and not get cakey.
Another option, is to go to a make up counter, Laura Mericer has really long last make up, and do a trial run... and see how long the product will last on your skin type. The artists won't mind doing a make over, just if you go on Saturday, make an appointment. Theyre usually free, but tip your girl a few bucks, and buy at least a product ( I used to be one!! :)) Congrats on your wedding!!

I'm a make-up artist and the first thing I tell brides is to not change. I think it is important for any bride to look like herself ---with a little kick---- on her wedding day. If you typically wear dramatic make-up, stay dramatic. If you don't wear any make-up, then keep it really light and natural...and for goodness sake....NO BLUE EYESHADOW!!!
I really recommend going to a make-up counter. Typically they like to do a trial run a week or so before so that everything will run smoothly on your wedding day.
Just remember, they do provide this service for free but they work on commission so while they are taking time with you, they are loosing money so out of respect, please buy at least the lipstick....plus you can refresh as your night goes on.

I recommend only high-end products such as Chanel, Este Lauder, MAC etc. Its youre wedding day you deserve the best. HOWEVER, the best way to ensure that your makeup stays on all day and its done properly to fit the occasion, please take my advice and hire a makeup prof. to do your make up for you. its worth every penny, plus im pretty sure you are getting your hair done proffesionally, and nowadays many salons have wedding packages for brides-to be. A clear example is Elizabeth Arden Red Door in NYC
