It gets me how these intellectuals say Bush is dumb, but they can be "duped" so easily.

Let's not forget this, either.

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
-Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of Mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
-Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
-Senator Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

I wasn't duped. I saw Powell's testimony before the UN and I didn't believe it. There were several others who weren't duped. Russ Feingold for one. Oh, and in 1998, he was legitimately trying to bring his program back to life. Even if that's not true, we didn't lose 2500+ soldiers. We just bombed the sites and went on with our business. I feel for the people of Iraq, but I don't think this war was the best way to liberate them. We've left them in the midst of a civil war and we are far from leaving them with a stable democracy.

The letter that Kerry affixed his name to was only after Iraq remained in default (7yrs) of complying with the treaty set forth after we first attacked Iraq. Why haven't we been paying as much attention to N. Korea?! We're gonna wish we had.
