Who else thinks he would be more effective if he didn't rely on world leaders?

Yes, Bono is doing this for many charities. His intentions are completely good, as he has been pushing for this for over 10 years. This isn't some fad thing like most celebrities do. He started it, he heads it up. He is quite effective in going to the world leaders. The world leaders and the big rich people he goes to hold over 90% of the world's wealth, so those are the people that have the most to give away. If he goes to 10 people and gets 1 billion dollars, that is easier than going to 1 billion people to get what will probably be less.

Live 8 was a JOKE! It had all the good intentions in the world, but what did it do??? After all the hooplala, and millions of people showing up and showing their support, making donations, what happened??? Once the concerts were over and everyone got paid, there wasn't another word about it. ...What got accomplished? Where did the money go? Who did it help? Where are the updates?
I hate when celebrities back a good cause and then walk away and leave the public hanging as to what happens. ***** should have been all over the world leaders AFTER the concerts as much as he was before. If he is going to back these causes, then he has to stick with them. Not just for the free publicity and photo ops. but to actually make the difference he is claiming to try and make.

Well, in defence of Bono's thinking, only world leaders can REALLY change anything so its best to lobby them instead of anyone else.

I think that Bono is awesome! I really think that he is one of the few celebs that are doing what he does out of his kindness and not just for publicity.

He's using his fame for a good cause. What a great thing to do with fame. Let's hope he can influence world leaders to make better decisions. I send him and all other light workers my prayers.

He's talking out of his *** if you ask me. He can take his money and stick it where the sun don't shine. I could care less. I don't even believe that he's improving anything. He's just flashing the big bucks like all the other celebs out there.
