Drive-in is way better!!

Just went to the Drive in last weekend, saw Cars & Click. Had a great time with the kids. They will probaly not have the opportunity to take their kids cause unfortunatley drive ins are a dying breed. Two reasons:
1. Drive ins are weather permitting and don't get much business in bad weather and most are closed for the winter.
2. People bring their on snacks. Drive ins depend on making money from concessions.

I love movies and enjoy a dark theater will mind blowing dolby surround sound, but a drive in is just a different way to enjoy a summer blockbuster movie!

I've never been to a drive-in but I think it might be better than the movie theater. At the movie theater I am either too cold or uncomfortable or there are people doing something to bother me. At the drive-in at least there would be the privacy and comfort of my own car.

A movie theatre. The drive-in is only for certain movies. The Rocky Horror Picture Show being one. More room to do the Time Warp.

I love the Drive-In, the one near where I grew up...was about an hour or so away, but it was worth the trip....I had a lot of fun! It's the smallest one in Virginia, but it's been running since 1953! I haven't been since I was a teenager....I think I may have to take my kids sometime this summer. My Dad saw movies there, I saw movies there, and I want to take my kids before it is closed or goes "dark" and disappears just like others.

Drive in !
Last time I was at one it must of been back in the late 70's early 80's.
I loved it ! It was something cool we went out and did as a family. Mom and dad in the front. Kids in the back. We had like a stationwagon and us kids went in our jammies. If it was late, we would just fall asleep in the back of the car.
I do remember how terrible the speakers were that you hook onto your window. Everyone in the car would have to be quiet to understand the movie.
NOWADAYS.....you have loud speakers and saroundsound in the theaters.

In a way, I wish they would bring back drive-ins. But with better speakers ! You and your honey can sit in the front and make out without anyone saying anything to you.
Privacy !

So movie theater all the way. There's nothing like sitting in that big room with the big screen in front of your face. The smell of rotting gum (and maybe carcasses) on the floor....On the other hand, you've got the stupid drive in, where you can't see or hear, heck, sometimes you might not know what movie your even watching...

Drive ins have a charming place in my heart, but I prefer a theater. Better sound, more in seats. But horror movies are great in a Drive in.

Drive In! Theaters are always too cold and it seems like it's the drop off place for parents to leave their kids, while they regain their senses and ask "why did we have kids again"! only joking, but I much rather perfer a drive in. You bring whatever you want to eat and drink.
