It had an agenda to be the best programme on TV. Succeeded. Yeah, it was a liberal show and it didn't apologise for that. Read an interview with one of the stars - think it was Bradley Whitford - recently that explained the logic of that.
"These people care about what they do for a living, and you have to care to, as the viewer. How are you gonna do that when your big success story of the week is 'Woohoo, we passed another tax-cut for rich people!"?"
I know the neocons think they have an agenda that's best for everyone - they surely must believe that in order to put their policies forward with conviction - but the fact is that dramatically, Republicanism tastes "off" when you put it onscreen, whereas in a Democratic White House, it's just easier to root for the characters at the end of the day.

I didn't watch it but even I know it had a liberal bias. That was the agenda. Espically with a Right-leaning Govt in office.

The neo-cons like to say that to make everyone believe there's some sort of liberal conspiracy out there, all the while attempting to destract publicity away from the real menace out there...The Neo-Cons themselves!
