That is a symptom of a migraine. I have had that happen to me a couple of times now. I have had my eyes checked (I had PRK several years ago and was really worried this was an after effect of the surgery). My doctor said this was perfectly normal symptom of a migraine and a lot of times is not accompanied by pain. My migraines always effect my eyes and do not always have pain. I have since been put on MAXALT 10mg tablets, and have not experienced the halo's again. Good luck.

Well I get migraines and I cannot have caffeine so that eliminates migraine meds due to fact that there are high doses of caffeine in them. I use a new product called Head On or Blue by Aveda "blue you press the formula into your temples and massage head on you can get at local store goes on for forhead but it works if you catch the early signs. If full blown use a cool wash cloth and place over your eyes and lay down if you ae sick to stomach just have to ride it out.

I have had my necklace for a little over two years now, and have been completely free of migraines. I have suffered from migraines since 1969, and literally went through nursing school eating Excedrin. I went the route with my family doc injecting my neck muscles with cortisone to going to the headache clinic at the Cleveland Clinic. I got temporary relief from the exercises from the clinic, but finally I discovered Nikken, by the grace of God. Since then migraines have been history.

What causes migraines. There are different causes and some medicines don't work on all causes. Cafergot is one that has been used commonly in the past - except by those who have caffeine as a trigger!

I had a friend who suffered from migraines for 10 years. Finally, she went to an herbalist (in Oregon) who did some thyroid tests on her. She said that her thyroid was out of balance, and she needed to take thyroid medication. My friend said that the doctor had tested her thyroid already, and said it was fine. But the practitioner said that the tests the doctors do was too coarse, that you need a very finely calibrated test. So, my friend has taken thyroid medication for the last 10 years and has never had another migraine! She used to vomit with them, etc., you name it. Hope it gives you something to consider when searching for a cure.
