a lot of people would disagree with you but i wouldn't because i'm one of the biggest fans of the horror genre and i must say, rob zombie is a great director and writer as well.
in the house of 1000 corpses, a lot of people got really freaked out about the idea of having a "crazy" family go on a murder spree like that and that they think this movie should have never been made because it's "pretty sick" to them - kidnapping, torture, murder, cannibalism, etc. but i think that's what makes a great horror film. it can't be called a horror film if no one freaks out or gets scared right? and when i watched that movie, it evoked all kinds of emotions in me (fear, disgust, i really got sick to my stomach thinking if this can happen in reality) and that, in my opinion, made it another one of my favorites (i like george romero the best.). it just captured me, especially the second time i viewed it.
i wish i could comment on his second movie but unfortunately, i haven't watched it yet. it's in my amazon wish list and i'll probably place it in order a week or two from now. oh, and i heard rob zombie will be directing the next halloween movie (yeah, the famous michael myers will be back on the big screen). have a nice day. :)

Huge fan of Rob, love both movies. House of 1000 Corpses reminded me of the classic horror films of the 70's, filled with sex and gore, and yet he made the Firefly clan more interesting than Leatherface's family or the cannibals from the Hills Have Eyes (the 1970's original), or Last House on the Left.
Devil's Rejects was another homerun in my book, and although certain items only made it to DVD extras (Dr. Satan), and Otis wasn't in full on albino mode, it was awesome from beginning to end.
AND he is going to write & direct Halloween (a re-envisioning).

I LIKED them they were OK, I think that they could have had a bit more horror and gore, but they didn't. Rob Zombie could have made them both better with that. I saw more gore than horror so it wasn't scary at all....
Besides THE DEVILS REJECTS, it was alright, but lacked in my opinion due to all the 80's actors trying to make comebacks or something. Just didn't care for that at all.

I liked them both. I think I enjoyed the 2nd one more than the first, but I thought they were both really good. I enjoyed the intensity and realism that they both produced even though there was a super-natural-ness to them both. Thanks for answering my question. Liked your answer.

To be difficulty-free... I havent watched it yet. i'm not previous enought to reveal screen it in theatres. I heard that some say that is a terrible action picture. i'm not particular about gory, even though it really is Halloween 2! Duh... you should reveal screen it. i opt to. even if it really is not that gorey, a minimum of it really is horror. in case you want horror, then you definately may be able to reveal screen it i wager.
