it's definitely kirilenko....marion's number's are bloated because of the way the suns play....he lives on fastbreaks and open threes...the fact that he doesnt have any play called for him is because he's terrible at creating his own shot...have AK and marion go 1 0n 1 and marion's not gonna have a chance....he doesnt have a post up game( i've seen him try to post up chauncy billups but ended up throwing an awkward fadaway shot) he doesnt know how to do a power drive to the basket... he doesnt know how to do pull up jumpers...he lives on fast breaks and lob passes from nash as well as putbacks from his teammate's missed shots....kirilenko on the other hand tho' not very talented offensively, has more goto moves around the basket....he is an underrated one on one scorer...he has a sound post up game and knows how to do a power drive to the basket... he also knows (but seldom uses) how to crossover dribble to freeze his defender and go strong to the hoop...AK is also better at the pull up jumper.... Defensively the edge also goes to AK... he's better at shotblocking via help defense or simply letting his man drive by and swatting it from behind... he's also very quick at anticipating the pass from opponents and has made the game winning block or steal on a number of occasions....his assists this year is also ranked very high among power forwards in the nba..... marion led the nba last year in intercepted steals and can usually block the occasional shot. but the fact remains, marion's game is nowhere near as complete as kirilenko...marion will always languish in the shadows of his more complete teammates. he does not possess enough leadership qualities or charisma to lead a team of his own. he is very intriguing because he is tireless and very fast but his shortcomings on offense have been the same since his rookie year...you will never be a superstar unless you can create your own shot...marion is the best rebounding small forward in the nba...but AK-47 is the best shotblocking forward as well as the most all around player in the nba....when he get's injured the utah jazz dont have a chance... if marion get's injured the suns will still win 55 games...and that is why kirilenko is better than marion.....

Beaverboy doesn't watch much basketball. Marion has a hard time creating his own shot. In fact, both do. So, that argument is irrelevant.

I don't think you can compare stats when making this assessment, because Shawn Marion's stats are grossly inflated by having Steve Nash feed him the ball. If Kirilenko were on the Suns with Nash, his numbers might be comparable.

Both are garbage players who work their butt off. Both are excellent defenders who can do a lot of things. Marion is a better finisher, better on the boards, and a more consistent shot, whereas Kirilenko is a superior shot blocker. Ultimately, I'd have to give the advantage to Shawn Marion becuase of his athleticism and rebounding ability.

Great comparison!!!! I'll take the chicken way out and say that it depends on your needs. If you need length and more rebounding, go for AK47. If you need athleticism and someone to stretch out the court, take Marion. A perfect example---a team like the Pistons would probably like someone who can run some half court--AK47 is perfect for them. A fast paced team that runs and guns--like Dallas or the Suns would take MArion. Since I'm a huge Warrior fan (don't ask me why), we could use Kirilenko over Marion. In the end, they're both great, but Marion has the 'bigger' name.

Kirilenko is a beast on the defensive end and can hit perimeter shots. But Marion can rebound greatly and can score in many, many ways. I'd pick Marion.

in a 5 on 5 game i'd take AK-47 he does much more 4 a team th Marion does. but in a game of one on one, i'd take marion cuz hes quicker and more explosive.

They both have their ups and downs. AK-47 is a way better shot blocker, so I'd choose him if I had to. Marion is still a great player.

Marion. He has the speed. he can just slide right around kirilenko.
Plus he does great around the rim. Size wouldn't matter because Marion can even play PF and block taller guys.
