they overpaid to get a one-dimensional player... now they dont have cap space left anymore to pursue top-caliber free agents in the future...

With Ben Wallace on his throne in the backcourt and PJ Brown, Jr Smith and T. Thomas by his side the Bulls are looking like BIG contenders for the title next year. Perhaps they overpayed for Wallace's services (due to his age) but never the less he has still won 4 out of the last 5 defensive player of the year awards. This fantastic defence is then backed up by the offense controlled by heinrich and sweetly finished off by gordon.Dont get me wrong im a hardcore lakers fan and it would tear me apart to see them come up short again but sometimes you just gotta face the facts...The Bulls are back...BIGSTYLE.

It will make the Bulls better on paper, but the truth of the matter is that the Bulls still need to find a scoring threat down low and that concern is not addressed with the addition of "Big Ben". It will, however allow them to match up better with Miami and Detroit so they should finish in the top four in the East, but no NBA titles, yet.

My favorite team is the Bulls. Getting Wallace means that Bulls can be legit contenders for the East ONLY. They're too young and I'm not even sure if they can handle all the pressure already. However, Benny will give them interior strength, confidence, and experience. Can't wait!

It's a 50/50 split, he's a strong player on D, if he has a good season they could be looking at possible contention for at least the eastern conference championships.
If he continues to decline they'll have just traded out another strong defender (Chandler), who is also younger, to free up cap space. though Chandler's numbers arent as good, he's got a little longer to develop.
On the flip side, the addition of PJ Brown provides a greater low-post scoring presence and JR Smith could make an excellent back up in the back-court, assuming Skiles can get him to play.
All in all, it depends on how badly Wallace wants to win!

If he has real chemistry with the other players on the team they might have a chance of having a pretty decent season. Maybe Wallace can get Chris Duhon and Malik Allen to play with a little more zest like they did in their college days.

This is now a contending team, I live in Chi-Town and am a huge Bulls fan. I love this move. If Deng can play like he was at the end of the year and keep improving, and Tyrus Thomas can do what he did in the tourney it will be a very exciting year.

I think he can help them in the regular season. When they get to the playoffs they won't have an answer for Shaq. Shaq struggled against the Bulls in the playoffs, but he had his way with Ben and the Pistons.

I think it's great. It's time to see if the Pistons can play like they did with him. As for the Bulls, I think they will have a better season with him. He's great on defense and can really get in the paint on offense.

Good for them. Detroit was crazy to let Ben get away. However it's all about the money and that's why Ben bounced!

Ok..I'm watching too much Ink! Thomas get out of my head!
