Why don't you sell your car and house to feed Africa?
By having a jet, he can raise probably 10 times the fund that he would if he didn't have a jet. Selling a jet might feed some of Africa for a year, but having a jet will feed many in Africa for many years.

The band U2 has 4 jets. One for Bono, one for The Edge, one for the other 2 members and one for all the equipment.
They could sell 3 if they wanted.

Bono claims to be an activist and he can use his media to bring attention and he can't do it alone. He also makes ridicolous amounts of money for what he does and yea some goes to charity.
What I want to know how is it that these so called charity organizations are working out of 3 million dollar buildings.
That billionaire guy just donate most of his fortune but I doubt it real reaches the people in need.
I think if you want to really help then you should do it personally because the middle man pockets the money.
its cruel but the strong survive.

Such small amounts of money would do little good and probably no lasting good at all.
The value Bono and Bob Geldorf give is their time and effort in highlighting the problems and trying to get people interested in finding answers and giving help. Because they are famous they can get the politicians to listen to them.
Until poverty and disease is defeated there is no chance for peace which is one thing I would hope we all want.

Bono may have a good heart but he is riding his fame, and the corporate world. No matter what he isn't going to give up his collected fortune.

Sometimes just aid is not enough. Just pouring money into the economy will only make it more difficult for them to get back on track. Places cant survive on handouts alone.

that will decrease his wealth and he won't be able to help as quality as he does it now...Why ppl you want to see rich ones down? That will create another reach which is questionable for philanthropy...Let's have what we have...and be happy with it. All kind of peoples we need to run the earth.

Because it is easier to live a life of luxury and excess, then ask how to rid the world of poverty than to actually do something altruistic.
