There really isn't a lot on which to build a hall of fame case for Franco...
He's not going to get 3,000 hits. In 21 seasons (so far) he only made the all star team 3 times...that's not a HOF type record.
He won one batting title. That's really his only 'black ink'. He led the league in at-bats one year.
Never won a gold glove...he only finished in the top 10 in MVP voting once, that being an 8th place finish in 1994, the strike season.
1,263 runs scored in 2,377 games (going into this year) is not a staggering number by any means...Only once has he scored 100 runs, and he had 90 runs scored in two other seasons...
He was certainly never regarded as the best player in baseball, nor was he really ever regarded as the best player at his postion for any lenght of time.
Only one of his top ten comps is in the Hall of Fame, that being Enos Slaughter (who's selection itself was debatable).
I don't see a Hall of Fame case here.

Not a snowball's chance in hades.
Playing until age 50 is no guarantee of getting in the Hall (ask Minnie Minoso), and Franco simply doesn't have--and won't get to--the career numbers to warrant a selection. Plus, he has never once been anywhere near the best player in the league.

No, he's not a Hall of Famer. However, he has always been an oustanding player. For him to still be playing--and playing very well--when he's almost fifty is truly amazing. I remember when he came to the Indians in 1983 as a young shortstop in a trade with the Phillies. Julio has always been one of my favorite players.

No. If you have to ask the question, the answer is no. If an athlete is a hall of famer you automatically know without even having to ask the question.

Nope, he doesn't meet the established standards of a typical Hall of Famer. Nice career, tho.

Nope - while a very good player, he isn't HOF caliber. He had one excellent season (1991) and a few very good ones, but overall his career can be seen as an admittedly one of an above-average player, rather than the career of a legendary one.
Of course, if he manages to hang around another 10 years and gets to that 3000 hit mark, then he'd probably make it.

By the time he reitres, he'll be about 70 years old and will hold the major league hit record and countless others. The guy is amazing! Hated to see the Braves let him go. He's a physical marvel.

you shouldn't be extra incorrect about your concept that journey in different leagues should be considered for HOF vote casting. Who the hell cares what number hits someone had in the minor leagues, ninety% of those gamers are not reliable adequate to play in the execs. The Mexican League is a comic tale compared to MLB. As for the eastern Leagues, the parks are a lot smaller and the final skills does not analyze to MLB skills. it quite is why the merely excellent gamers from Japan are coming the following. i ought to bypass on, yet I gained't. the astounding prognosis is MLB attracts the merely excellent skills (except for Cuba) in the international. it quite is why significant League stats in ordinary words should be seen for HOF vote casting. final analysis, he does not have any large stats which could propel him into the corridor and it really is compared to he changed into an excellent fielder.
