1) Damn big.
There's lots of China to explore, from Hong Kong to Hunan. Some of it's beautiful, some of it's grimy and industrial, but whatever way you slice it there's an awful lot of it.

2) Ancient.
Gave the world paper, money, gunpowder, football, and many other inventions... but they also invented pasta, so we'll forgive them. :)

3) Foreign.
OK, dumb answer, but to the untrained eye Chinese culture has some pretty radical differences in values, beliefs and desires. Or is that all changing now the information world is opening up a bit? (Can't stop the signal, Mal. They can never stop the signal.)

Big country, so big it can not be viewed in one go. Let alone described in a few words.

It has Giant differences. Poor and rich. People living in houses with merely a wood fire and others that live in skyscrapers with central heating and microwave ovens.

It has a rich culture and history an Chinese will be what English was the last few hundred years.

I think they are transitioning slowly, but surely. They really need to be a bit more open, but will take time. They aren't the commies they used to be. I think some in the democrat party are 3 Xs the commies that the Chinese are.

A nasty communist regime that leaves disabled and female new born babies to die in the road. They should force contraception or sterilisation on people rather than let innocent babies perish.

Millions of people around the globe are desperate to adopt a baby and all the chinese can do is dump them like rubbish in the road to die.

Tianenmen Square.
Failed Communist dictatorship.
Crushing poverty.
Massive untapped human potential.
Kung fu, awful fast-food and a great wall.
