I've heard it has something to do with the way your eyes and brain process information, but I did some yoga in college and for some reason it happened alot more then than it usually does.

Most scientists seem to think it is related to some kind of power outage or "flicker" along the nervous system - in other words your brain temporarily "forgets" and then remembers the experience, creating the sensation of having "remembered" the experience twice. The phenomenon has been mentioned in writing for centuries - with a similar description.

There are several types of deja vu experiences, as well as the similar phenomena "jamais vu" (Never seen - something that ought to be familiar suddenly seems strange) and "presque vu" (Almost seen - something that you can't quite put your finger on, a memory that's "on the tip of your tongue").

Wiki has an excellent article on the subject, linked below.

All time happens at once, thought that's hard to grasp. If you have a more evolved brain, using more of your right brain lobe, your subconscious is experience the future right now. A de ja vu moment is just like a leak in the dam between the two.

It's a good thing. Meditate and develop your mind more! ; )

anything you experience goes through a "microprocessor" in your brain which decides whether to file that experience into your short-term or long-term memory. Occasionally an "electrical glitch" causes the microprocessor to send that experience back to itself, when it processes the information the second time it gives you the vague feeling that you've "been there done that" before. Nobody's quite sure what causes this to happen, but yoga can change the way your brain processes things so that may have something to do with it. Hope that helps!

My understanding of de ja vu: You see someone for the first and you say, I've him/her before, but you just can't recall, and for sure you haven't seen that person before. And it remains at that.

You can something, or someone says something, or vice versa. And suddenly you stop shocked that this has happened 'before'. But surely it hasn't.

De ja vu, is mainly related to the sub-conscious level on mind. Since has no information about it. It is part dream, part spiritual and part psychic experience. It could be anything, an experience from past, from the spirit world (things happen first in the spirit world - but I need to investigate about what I just wrote), or even an experience from a past life.

I think it has to do with experiencing things but for some reason the brain doesn't "register" it right away--when it does, a split second later, you feel like you've experienced it twice. Maybe the yoga made some of the connections in your brain work better, so you could sense things sooner...just a non-scientific guess. There's some interesting stuff in the link below.

It is simple , you have done your life in another dimension and when a deja vu comes along it is re-assuring you that you are on the right path as planned. No I am not a nut. This I have researched. Hence when you are calm during with yoga you are more in tune too.

It is my belief, that De Ja Vu is the remnants of past lifes we have lived. Interwoven memories that appear for an instant on occasion, in our present life. For example, when we walk into a place and it seems familiar, we have already been there.

People who experience Deja Vu, do not experience it alot. If you feel you are experiencing alot of Deja Vu (more than normal) than you might have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I'm not a professional, but if you seek a mental professionals advice, they can assist you with the diagnoses. Post traumatic stress syndrome can follow, rape, incest, war combat, mugging, car accident, workplace bullying, or any event or events that led you to feel frightened and helpless for your life.

My answer is just speculation.
I believe that time is on multiple levels and is occuring now on many zones. i.e. past, present and future, and sometimes these will overlap and give us a glimpse of what to come.

This or we all have special gifts from the divine that will allow us to have short breif insights that may mean nothing at all, to possibly leading into a different direction.

Good luck

de ja in french means again, vy means you, so it means again you. I think this is caused when yur brain neurotically sends a message to you sinapse in your sleep (dream) and then you see a simlar circumstanc in life and your eyes are projected to adjust to see if if is a dream or not.
