we were the first to make the nuclear weapons that were usable and we needed to end the war in japan quickly before Russia joined our forces in fight Japan in World War Two and after that when Russia got teh same technology we had to go in a stand off, AKA Cold War, and since the great scientist of the world saw the power of a nuclear bomb they hypothesisied that if two countries like Russia and the United States were to launch a nuclear war then the earth would be no more and that is why the United States can say who gets nuclear weapons or not but they can be taken down by the other permanet countries of teh UN security council. The United States alone does not have the power to say who can have nuclear weapons and who can not but if no one ever stands up and says that one country can't have nuclear weapons because of something in there country then everyone would have them and just one false move by an enemy into the country that has nuclear weapons would cause another World War which would include nuclear weapons.

The US is not deciding who has nuclear technology, only on trying to enforce what the world body has decided in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. No one disputes that Iran and N. Korea has the right to create such technology, but they must by international law do this is a transparent manner.
The problem is, these nations tend to sell thier arms to terrorist organizations to raise money for thier own country without reguard to the uses of the technology. So, if we let N. Korea create a Nuclear bomb, they would sell it to Islamic Extremist who would like to detonate it on US Soil, or worse, since the US is currently at odds with N. Korea and they are perfecting thier long range missles, they could eventually hit the USA with a nuclear war-head. As for Iran, they have repeatedly threatened to wipe Israel off the map, and if given Nuclear Arms, would use it towards Israel which the US considers one of thier strongest allies.

The object today is to avoid any country having nuclear weapons. The US would like it if even they could get rid of their nuclear weapons but since other countries like China, Russia etc still have them, the US must keep theirs as a deterrent. No other countries need nuclear weapons due to their catastrophic nature and the fact that countries like Iran and North Korea have unstable governments that might use the weapons or sell them to terrorists. It's for your own protection.

Whoa.... The USA thru the United Nations helps deter countrys from making nucular weapons. We know the havoc those weapons can create and don't want to see them in the hands of idiots from some countrys as they would not hesitate to use them. The weapon was used to save thousands of lives from the continuous war of WWII and has not been used since then. If you would wake up and realize that the whole world was at war then you would drop the subject and forget about it. Those that used the weapon are mostly dead now so why prolong something like that?

What you have to understand, and I don't know how old you are, is that since the United States dropped the first nuclear bombs on Japan, they became a super power for all other country's to take notice of. Going forward, the United States has taken the lead as world protector in a way. By letting aggressive, non democratic nations gain this type of power and allowing them to threaten us or any other peace loving nation for its own political gain, must be stopped!
Why would you want any terrorist or other aggressive nation to gain nuclear supremacy?

It's not the U.S. that gets to tell them...treaties were signed at the end of the WW2 that governed the rules for Nuclear and Weaponry Advancement. Countries who already had a developing Nuclear Program were allowed to continue with it, where as Countries who had no program in place were not allowed and signed treaties in agreement.

It's the US who has the voice. N Korea is being ruled by a mental midget. The international community wants them to stop. So they make the US the voice because we are the world power. People are already pissed off at the US so might as well go with the flow.
We have nukes as a deterrent we wont actually use them but these Lil countries are dumb enough to use them.

Iran as a rustic has diverse financial problems and nuclear weapons isn't considered one of them. Many Iranians are in many countries seekiny assylum because of the fact of financial problems. US as a rustic has helped and remains helping an excellent kind of alternative countries in choose. what's the essence of this NUK in Iran???????? She ought to particularly focus on the undemanding desires of the electorate as a replace of being waiting for a conflict it fairly is hundreds of thousands of miles away. THere are issues in user-friendly terms left for matured minds to handle.

Hmm. Probably because we used a nuke to END a war instead of to START a war. Are you really so ignorant that you think that the US is the ONLY country to have a problem with North Korea and Iran? Are you really so ignorant to think that the aforementioned countries are innocent? And are you really so ignorant to believe that your question has NOT been asked a million times already?

You are completely right.
There can be no justice in this. Its unfair without qualification.
Now..... ask yourself another question....... How bad would 9/11 or 7/7 have been if the terrorists had been armed with any form of nuclear device?
Be careful what you wish for.
You may get it.
