Um...don't you think it is time for you to move on. Your ex needs to settle up with you for the house.

You need to finalize your divorce, do what you need to with the property and move on. Until then I think that you should have keys to the front, side and back door. He lives there now and I understand that but that is your house and why the hell should you be locked out of your own house. That is crazy. I do not know if he is doing it on purpose or not but you need the keys to the house.

I think he is spiteful. Have a talk with your husband about it and tell him that its still your house also. Better yet break the house ties. Find a way to settle the house and move on . After all you 2 are seperated and you moved out. Time to build a life again for you. Good luck.

Settle up on the house. If you demand your half of the house, then your ex will have to pack up and move- so will the friend.
My friend had a similar situation where the ex had his new girlfriend move in with him and she did things like this. My friend went to an attorney (since the ex wasn't acting on the issue) and demanded what was rightfully hers out of the house + the half of the house itself. Within 30 days, her ex had to deliver or he had to appear in a court of law with the added expense of court fees, etc. Within 2 weeks, her household items were given back, the house went on the market, and the girlfriend left him because he didn't have a nice home to live in. Ha!

Legally, you have a right to be able to get in the house because it is on your name too.
If you have still have property in the house, you can call on both of them one evening talk to them and explain the situation. Then ask for a key to the house. Be careful not to be too aggressive or he may decide to take some vindicative action on your things.
If he refuses, you can get a court order or sell the house. The latter may be the best option anyway as it may be stressfull and expensive to keep a constant eye on a bad tenant.
Best of luck!

well....i think you are using the house as an excuse to keep your foot "in the door"so to speak. you probably still have a garden in the back yard so you can go water it every couple of days, just to be nosey. i agree with the majority, MOVE ON. get a divorce or legal seperation. it seems as though that "friend" of his has taken over your house .he probably has already done some remodeling in your house too. it seems as though your husband has moved on(with the friend) so now you should.

You need to get a divorce, split the property and move on. Why would you want to continue to go back to the house? I would have made him move out. Are you sure he and this friend aren't in a relationship? He is acting as a woman would, by locking you out.

Move out of the house and move on with your life...your story sounds like the movie The Break-Up with Vince Vaughn, where u both don't want to give up the house...the only difference is, I don't think u and ur ex will get back together.

Is this guy friend of his gay? LOL. Just kidding. Makes you think though.
No. I think that maybe what your husband said may be it. Don't read into it. Just ask your husband to talk to him and let him know not to lock all of them. If he really has a phobia about it then just at least one way in.
Besides, if your not there anymore and you guys get along. Keep it just friends or find out what you guys plan to do. Get back together or what? If not get back together then break the ties already of marriage because its hard to move on like that.
If his friend is acting like that obviously your husband communicated to him some feelings of hurt to his friend and thats why he may not like you. Friends and Family never like the poeple who hurt us so its understandable to not like you. The fact that you and your husband get along is totally different. His friend was there when he needed him and he poured out to him how you made him feel. So if he didn't like you then, he now despises you even more for whatever happened. Even if you guys tried to get back together since he allowed his friend to move in its even going to be harder.
Have your husband buy your share out or to pay you rent if you still want to keep it because this guy may make things bad for you the more along the line when he analyzes things for your husband. He's going to be advicing him. He's right there and your not. They are so going to build a close relationship and your soon going to feel like the outcast. Conversations about you may be happening that you really don't know about to screw you in the end.
Or, just leave it alone. At this point his friend may make it hard. As long as its under your name your cool.
